There is no better way to appreciate the town of Pilot Mountain than to see it from the top of the famous landmark in which the town is named after.
Bring along your family or friends and walk the trails of this gorgeous geological formation.
There are different trails leading to the peak of Pilot Mountain that you can choose from that caters to all different levels of hikers. Other activities include Rock climbing, camping, horseback riding, incredible picnic spots and more. Don’t miss stopping by the newly built state of the art Welcome Center for interactive exhibits of the geological history of the mountain and region.
- Enjoy Award Winning Wine and Excellent Food at Jolo
Boasting 80-acres that showcase the beauty of Pilot Mountain and overlooks Cox Lake, Jolo is an incredible destination known as one the top wineries in the all of the Triad area. JOLO is visited by 400,000 travelers from all over the world per year, to try out their award-winning wines.
My personal favorite, The “Jolatage”. But don’t just come for the wine. Jolo, has some of the areas best eats. Elevated cuisine, enjoyed in an idyllic setting. A must visit when in the area.
-Tee it up at PKP County Club
One of the more Scenic and well maintained Golf Courses available for Public play (Weekdays) in the Triad, PKP has just undergone an extensive renovation to all greens and other Features of the golf course. Awe Inspiring views of Pilot Mountain greet you from numerous holes and angles of the course. Fair but challenging, you’ll surely enjoy this track!
-Attend Mayfest
Mayfest is a three-day celebration in the heart of downtown Pilot Mountain.
It features, arts and crafts, commercial and retail booths, kid-friendly games and activities, excellent local entertainers, and tasty festival fare.
This event annually attracts around 30,000 attendees downtown during Mothers Day weekend.
A portion of the Proceeds of the event help finance scholarships for local youth and grants for the area's charity organizations.
You not only get to Enjoy all the weekend Festivities, but you also play a part in helping the community.
